During the first days of the classes, we taught about storytelling. I think that it’s an important topic in our area because we should to learn how to tell a story.
Normally, we are telling stories when we tell a joke, when you want to convince your parents or when you tell what you did the last week. As a conclusion, storytelling consists on to transmit with gestures and movement a story.
One example of the importance of gestures and movements are in the next video where we observe that it’s easier to understand the story. In the video, we can observe how a child tries to tell a story.

As a result, I have seen that the child uses a support like flash cards or a book in Din A3.These methods are essential because the other children are supported in the materials to understand the story.
Children should to live the story and this is simple. As teachers, we should to help students to understand the story and we provide some techniques as scaffolding for children.
-          Visual resources as vignettes and pictures
-          Body language to express the feelings in the story.
-          To realize a glossary with different key words
-          Divide the story in parts.
These elements will be useful for tell the story because it’s a way to combine the story with the resources.

In my opinion. I think that this topic it is essential for a teacher because we can obtain a progress in the reading´s children in a future.

  1. Hello Dani. First of all I have to say that I agree with you because I also think that storytelling is something that every teacher should do because of stories can help students in a lot of things.
For example, one of the most important things for me that we can found in a story is the moral. Children can learn a lot of things of these morals. We can use them also with the objective of practice phonics. If we want children to practice a sound we can show them a story in which that sound is repeated and they have to tell the story and in this way they practice this sound.
Finally I also think that gestures and movements are very important when you are telling a story because they help you to express yourself better.
